FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Berkeley County, South Carolina – December 24, 2017

Berkeley county will soon be getting its first production craft beer brewery. Swamp Fox Brewing Company, LLC announced today that it will be opening its new microbrewery near the Nexton development, conveniently located between Summerville and Goose Creek in Berkeley County. The brewery will be called “Wide Awake Brewing Company” as a tribute to the nearby unincorporated community of the same name. The brewery will only be a short drive from I-26 exit 199-B.

The microbrewery will boast a five-barrel brew house and a small accessory taproom. The brewery operators are home brewers with a passion for craft beer who want to stay true to their roots, so a small system makes sense. Eric Roberts has been home brewing for more than 20 years. Stephen Platt is also an avid home brewing enthusiast with years in the hobby. And they’re just looking forward to making some really good beer.

Wide Awake Brewing Company will offer an array of craft beers on draft in their tap room, as well as filling growlers and having bottle releases for limited edition ales and lagers. But most of their product will be earmarked for distribution, so look forward to seeing their beer at your favorite restaurant or beer retailer. They hope to be up and running by this summer.
